In the mind of an English speaker, there's a clear difference between talking about an event that happened in the past and talking about something that has happened. The difference is whether there's an effect on the speaker right now.
For example, if you say "I ate" it's just a fact - you ate at some time in the past. It doesn't have any connection to how you feel right now.
But if you say "I've eaten", that expresses

Sleeping and Waking

A lot of doctors say that for a healthy lifestyle, you should sleep for eight hours a night. Before you go to bed, you shouldn’t eat too much or drink alcohol. In addition, you shouldn’t use a computer or electronic device at least one hour before going to bed. Try to make your bedroom a peaceful place, with no TV’s, computers, or bright lights.  Doing this may help you to fall asleep easier and sleep more deeply. You’ll wake up full of energy and get out of bed feeling refreshed.

Have Something Done vs Have Someone Do

Today, let’s have a look at two ways we use the auxiliary verb have in English grammar. You can have your watch repaired, or have someone repair your watch. Simple, right? Well, today I will show you both of these grammar patterns. The first pattern is have + [something] + PPVerb. Here are some examples:
