Example Tweet:
My boss says he needs it done asap.
Meaning:
asap is short for “as soon as possible”. It
roughly means “very quickly”.
Example Tweet:
WTF, my computer crashed AGAIN!!!
Meaning:
WTF is short for “what the fuck”. It is a
way to express anger and also confusion.
Important Note:
Fuck is a very impolite word. However,
many people use wtf on the Internet.


Example Tweet:
You lost 50 to 0! You got owned.
Meaning:
Owned roughly means “to lose badly”.
Notes:
You may see it spelled pwned. The intentional
misspelling comes from a spelling
mistake in ‘World of Warcraft’.
*World of Warcraft is a popular online game.

Time for bed, ttyl.
Meaning:
ttyl is short for “talk to you later”. It
means “I will talk to you in the near future”.
Notes:
ttyt is short for “talk to you tomorrow”.

Meaning:
gtg is short for “got to go”. It means “I
must leave”.

Meaning:
Wasup is short for “What’s up”. It’s an
informal greeting. It can mean “hi” and /
or “What are you doing?”.
