Over The Hill


This is a great term in spoken English.  It’s also very easy to use and understand this.
If someone is “over the hill” it means they are “too old for something”. They are “past their prime”.  They are past the best years of their lives or their career.

Winter

in the dead of winter — глубокой зимой
It's ages since we last met!; We haven't met for ages! — сколько лет, сколько зим!
hard, severe, harsh winter — холодная зима
mild winter — мягкая зима, теплая зима
winter — старость; период несчастий
