Apologizing for small mistakes
Simply saying "sorry" is most
common with small mistakes, like bumping into someone or saying someone’s name
wrong. In these situations, people often say:

There are a few slang phrases
that you can also use for slight mistakes:

How to be a good language student!
1. Do make sure you have something to record new items of language
(notebook, netbook etc.)
2. Don’t rely solely on
your memory.
3. Do make
sure you have access to a dictionary (get one on your phone then you can access
it wherever you are).
4. Don’t miss the
opportunity to pick up new words and check their meaning.
