When you're learning English, you can find a lot of phrases that seem to mean the same thing, but are a little bit different. It can be really hard to know which phrase you should use. A good example is phrases that you use to tell someone that you love them.
There are so many different ways; which one should you use?
Here's how I suggest learning similar phrases:
- First, try to figure out which version is the most common or most basic. Learn that one.
- Next, just learn other phrases that have similar meanings. Don't worry too much about the differences between them. And don't try to learn too many at a time.
- Wait for a while. Use English out in the real world. See which phrases you encounter.
- Finally, refine your understanding. Figure out how the phrases are different from each other.
